PACK 80 NEWS AND UPDATES
Pinewood Derby: Pack 80's Pinewood Derby is now history. There were 17 entries. The variety of design and embellishment was varied and very interesting. There were some very imaginative designs and paint jobs. After 17 first round races, the top five cars were entered by Richie , Ryan, Matthew , Bryce and Hunter . The second round of races resulted in the final standings noted below:
- First Place - Richie
- Second Place - Ryan
- Third Place - Matthew
- Honorable Mention - Bryce and Hunter
Congratulations to the winners and to all of the Scouts for a job well done.
Each participant received a "spark plug" trophy and a poster of a NASCAR driver. Additional awards included the following as selected by Mount Holly Police Department officers:
- Coolest Car - Richie
- Most Creative Car - Bryce
- Car with Best Detail - Frankie
- Most Patriotic Car - Ryan
- Most Humorous Car - Jeremy
- Most Colorful/Artistic Car - Hunter
- Sportiest Looking Car - Ryan
- Best Design - Matthew
Special thanks to the Sacred Heart Church for the use of their facility and to the many adults and scouts who helped set up the race track, run the races, food stand and clean-up. A special note of thanks to Mr. Mike for keeping the statistics for all of the races.
Blue and Gold Banquet: At the Blue and Gold Banquet, Jay , Colin , Jarod , Kevin , Brendan , Ryan and Daniel began their "Start of a New Adventure" by crossing-over to the Boy Scouts. Congratulations.

Trail's End Popcorn Sales Pins were awarded to the following for their participation at the Walmart sale, February 14:
- Kartik , Owen , Jeremy , Jordan , Bryce, Richie and Ryan from the Wolves
- Frankie and Austin of the Bears
- Matthew and Kyle of the Webelos
Scavenger Hunt: A scavenger hunt was started at the Blue and Gold. This is a fun event that includes a list of 100 items to locate or complete by the Pack 80 camping weekend the end of May 2009. For those of you who were not at the dinner, your Den leaders have the list of items. Please make sure you get one and get started on the fun. Prize winners will be determined at camp. If you have any questions regarding the items or need a list, please contact John Norton, Cubmaster, 609-217-5400, Joyce Lofberg, Asst Cubmaster, 609-257-7510, or your Den leaders.
Upcoming Events: Please mark your calendars for the following activities:
- Cub-O-Ree, April 18 and 19 or May 2 and 3, Pine Tree Educational Center, Tabernacle This is a council-wide parent and son event including lots of critter activities, outdoor fun, BBs and archery, and a one-night camp out. Early Pack registration deadline is March 30.
- Pack 80 Camping Trip, May 29, 30 and 31, Pine Tree, Tabernacle This will be a fun filled event for everyone. The Scout will be attending for FREE. Parents/adults will be charged $10 each and children 12 and under $5. A number of activities are being planned.
